This easy DIY beeswax candle is a perfect craft for anyone to make! It require two simple ingredients and the rest is up to you on how it looks and smells.

A few weeks ago, Dan decided to get some honey bees and start the process of honey making. That’s as far as I got as to understanding this whole process. I was able to sneak in some pictures of Dan in his beekeeping suit though.

We discovered a little bit of beeswax in their new beehive and Dan immediately tried to light it like a candle by adding some fresh lavender in it. It was safe to say it turned black and it all burned.

I took it in my own hands and showed Dan how it was done. Since we just got the bees, we got a block of beeswax to practice making things such as candles and lotions.

Here is how I made the candle-

Supplies

• Jars or small wooden dough to hold the candle.
• 2 candle wicks
• 6 oz beeswax, shredded or pellets
• 1 oz coconut oil
• 15-20 drops lemon essential oil
• 15-20 drops lavender essential oil
• Small glass bowl
• Saucepan
• Fresh lavender (optional)

Directions

1. Fill saucepan with about 2 inches of water.
2. Put wax in glass bowl and place in water. Turn heat to medium.
3. Once wax is fully melted add coconut oil and stir.
4. Remove from heat and add essential oils. Stir again.
5. If you have fresh lavender, mix it in now.
6. Carefully pour into jar. Place wicks as needed.
7. Let cool and cure. I would wait around 24 hours until lighting.
